Father's £800 safety net for movie star


This is an extract from the coverage in the Daily Mail, from our recent interview with Robert after him deciding to become a With Kids ambassador

He is a Hollywood star whose TV and cinema roles from the rural Bobby Hamish Macbeth to the violent Begbie in Trainspotting have made him a wealthy man.

But Robert has revealed that his father always kept a secret savings account for him to use if his career flopped.

His father, Joseph Carlyle, had saved £800 to give to his son to help him re-launch himself as a painter and decorator if he struggled to find acting work according to Robert in Part Three of our interview with him.
