Come along to our Race Night at the Courtyard...

The Courtyard Bar are very kindly organising and sponsoring our Charity Race Night on the 23rd November. They are helping us raise funds for Christmas and we would love for you to join us for a great night. We have recently written a post regarding our Christmas Appeal highlighting how vital donations and fundraising is to us at Christmas time.

The Race Night is a welcomed addition to our fundraising efforts to help in the lead up Christmas. This time of year is a tough time financially for many and through fundraising events and kind donations we aim to make sure no family is left with nothing at Christmas.

Join us at The Courtyard Bar, 84 West Nile St. 7.30pm on 23rd November. There will also be live entertainment, Tombola and Raffle Prizes.

If you would like to make a donation or help us with donating anything to our Christmas Appeal, we would love to hear from you. Contact us on 0141 550 5770 or email us on info@withkids.org.uk

Help us spread the word about the event by sharing this with your online friends using the share buttons below. If you have found this post of interest then the chances are your friends will too. Thank you!

Christmas Appeal 2011

We know the winter mornings have well and truly arrived and Christmas is just around the corner! As always we aim to provide struggling families with presents, food and credit for utility bills in order to make things a little easier at a time where everyone finds it tight to make ends meet.

We will also be holding our annual Christmas party on 23rd December at Calton Fire Station for around 200 children and their families. We depend on your help and donations to make this possible. There's still time to fundraise or even collect those unwanted tins and packets at the back of the cupboard. With your help and support no family will go without this Christmas time.

If you or someone you know can assist then please contact us 0141 550 5770 or info@withkids.org.uk

The type of items that go a long way in making a difference are:
  • Non perishable food items- to help with winter hampers
  • Stocking fillers- for the little extras on Christmas day that make a difference
  • Party food- to help make our Christmas Party the best yet
  • Wrapping paper/ sellotape/ gift tags- the little things that go a long way
  • Gifts for adults (toiletries, perfume, make up)
Donations of any kind are always greatly appreciated. We also take monetary donations which also goes a long way to help help us provide our services at With Kids.

Can you help us create our Winter Wonderland Christmas party?

October has arrived, there are a considerable amount of leaves on the ground and a chill in the air. This can only mean one thing, Autumn is upon us and before we know it Christmas will be here. Yes we said it...we are officially talking Christmas talk. Christmas is nearly here so we may as well start preparing. Although, we do suspect that there are many of you who are super efficient and have started planning already.

We love Christmas and we especially love our Christmas party that is held at With Kids head office. The kids loved it last year too and this year we want it to be the biggest and best yet.

We are looking for help from our friends to help us create the best Christmas party this side of Lapland by making the With Kids party area a winter wonderland. Can you or anyone you know help us? We are looking for anyone who has experience in graffiti, model making or theatre set building to help us create the best setting for our Christmas party. Do you know of anyone that can help us with arts and crafts? Please contact us if you would like more information or if you think you or any of your friends could lend a hand.

You can contact Suzy: s.blair@withkids.org.uk or by phone: 0141 550 5770
You can also contact us by joining our Facebook page or Twitter page.

By sharing this post you will help us spread the word and someone you know from your online community may like to help us. If you have found this post of interest then please feel free to share it with your online community via the share buttons below. Thank you.

With Kids have been placed into the short list of The Royal Bank of Scotland's Community Force initiative and we need you help! With over 1000 projects and charities from all over Scotland entered into the running, we need as many votes as we can to be in with a chance of being awarded £6000 from RBS. This money would make a huge difference and would help improve the services we provide.

The voting opens on the 26th of September and we are asking for your support and help. To get a better understanding of what we do and how the award will help With Kids please click HERE. Here Comes The Summer (programme)!

Summer is nearly over, however it is questionable if we actually had one in the first place! The kids are back at school and so we say a sad goodbye to our 2011 Summer Programme at With Kids. We had an action packed 4 weeks of activities, trips and events for our families to ensure that summer breezed by effortlessly. The kids and everyone involved had fantastic days out at Kelburne Country Park, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Pollok Park and Millport when we were lucky enough to be joined by some Scottish sunshine (who'd have thought it!). We joined the Glasgow Science Center for their 10th Birthday celebrations, where there was so much to do that it took us 3 hours just to get up the stairs!

We've also had some great days in with our Cinema Club and arts/games days where we made clay models and puppets, played games and ate loads of popcorn. We finished our Summer Programme with a party at Calton Fire Station where the kids got to have a go of the Fire Fighters equipment as well as making balloon models, they had their faces painted and we even cranked up the karaoke for some disco diva singing - and some very bad singing on the side of the staff.  We are naming no names but you know who you are.
We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone that helped, assisted and supported us. And of course to our lovely families without whom there would be no Summer Programme. We have added some photos from the Summer Programme to our facebook page, so take a minute to take a look at all the fun we had!
