Help pick the #WKMemories winner...!

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported and took part in the #WKMemories photo competition!

For those who don't know, we launched an online photo competition aimed at encouraging the public to reminisce and share their favourite childhood memory a couple of weeks ago.

We caught up with David Eustace over the weekend in order to choose the lucky winner.

Unfortunately, he picked a member of the With Kids team as the winner! Obviously, it would not be fair for them to win, so David has picked his next top five favourite photos and we are leaving the difficult task of choosing a winner down to you!

Below are David's top five favourite photos! The photo which gets the most combined 'Likes' on our Facebook page will win the overnight's stay for 2 at the CitizenM Hotel Glasgow.

As a massive thank you to everyone who entered, David has also kindly donated an exclusive print from his Highland Heart NYC show back in May 2013, which will be gifted to the person who gets the second most amount of 'Likes' on their photo.

This print was only available to guests who attended the opening night of David's show in May 2013, which was opened by Alex Salmond, the First Minister of Scotland, and this print cannot be purchased.

David has said that "You're all winners for leaving memories and moments which are special. I love some of the images and they remind us of a moment in time, even if it's just a tiny photo as in the case of Laurie Hancocks image of her father and sister on the last day of the streetcars running in LA."

Jim Lambie reinvents himself driven by a want to 'add to the world'

'With Kids' Ambassador, Jim Lambie chats to us about reinventing himself.

In the second of our three part series, Jim discusses his move from the East End of Glasgow to the Glasgow's City Centre when he was 19 years old and his love for music and art being the driving force for him to reinvent himself in the world.

In the video below he talks openly about wanting to add something to the world rather than take away from it. His inspiration didn't come directly from any particular artists, however, his love for art magazines and books that he read on tour during his time in small indie bands, made him realise that if he could 'play with crayons for the rest of his life then he would be happy.'

He believes that education is everything. Although the views from those who he grew up with his in the East End of Glasgow were that being involved and interested in art meant that 'you had fancy ideas about yourself', Jim was not deterred or put off in applying for Art School. The fact that he did not give up after being rejected by Glasgow School of Art the first time, is inspirational to kids today, as it shows that if you believe in yourself enough you should keep following your dreams.

We are delighted to have Jim, who is now a successful contemporary artists, as one of 'With Kids' ambassadors as he is a true inspiration to everyone, particularly those who we work with at 'With Kids'.

Win a Chocolate Rooster in time for Easter

With Kids Glasgow has had a kind donation of a Chocolate Rooster worth £75 from John Lewis in Glasgow.

The rooster weighs 3kg and is hand made by James Chocolates.

We need your help in naming the Rooster. The name that the judging panel thinks would best suit the Rooster will win it!

To enter the competition all you need to do is go to the With Kids Facebook page and add your comment.

The competition closes on Thursday 21st April at 12pm and the winner will be announced by 5pm that day. Just in time for easter weekend!
